WISIUM participated last week in the 26th edition of the World’s Poultry Congress (WPC) in Paris. For 100 years, the WPC has been a major forum for the advancement of poultry research and has also become over time a place of exchange between Research and Industry players from all over the world.
WISIUM was pleased to share its research work:
- Via a presentation on “Alternatives to soy in broiler feed”
Olivier GESTIN (Poultry Manager – WISIUM France) and Nathalie SALIEZ (Customer Formulation Manager – WISIUM France) presented this interesting and topical subject.
With the increasing concerns about the use of soybeans from converted farmland and the growing demand for GMO-free food and feed in some markets, the WISIUM team’s presentation gave the show participants a clearer picture of the use, advantages and disadvantages of alternative raw materials. This presentation not only showed that it is possible to implement a soy-free diet from the start-up phase of broilers without impacting performance, but also demonstrated the economic and environmental consequences of such a diet. Thus, Nathalie SALIEZ, as part of her mission in the sustainability department of ADM Animal Nutrition, worked with the GFLI database to analyse the carbon footprint of these diets and present the subject in its entirety.
2. Via an online poster on “Effects of nutritional supplementation on growth and blood biomarkers in broilers vaccinated against coccidiosis”. In this research work, several amino acids and additives were tested to address production issues on the performance of coccidiosis vaccinated flocks.
